The sudden deaths of NBA star Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, over the weekend in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles deeply affected many around the world. And the outpouring of grief has been expressed in many awe-inspiring ways.
Artist Kelli Pearson and her husband, Pete Davis, created a 115-foot by 92-foot grass image of Bryant on a Pleasanton baseball field.
“I think it hit hurt her more than it hit me,” Davis told KGO. “She woke up knowing we had to do something. We wanted to do something local.”
