The tear-inducing video tribute to the late Alex Trebek that will air tonight as part of his final “Jeopardy!” episode has been released by the game show’s producers.
The montage of vintage clips — about 90 seconds in length — plays over the sound of Peter Allen’s “Once Before I Go.”
The clips include archival footage of Trebek’s early days on the popular quiz show, including a scene in which he reminds viewers that he “doesn’t write the clues.” Also included: Shots of him with his children on “family visiting day” and several scenes of the beloved host in various costumes, including a KISS get-up.
Trebek died on Nov. 8, following a public battle with pancreatic cancer. Tonight’s episode, which can be seen at 7 p.m. on KGO-TV in the Bay Area, was taped in late October.
